Several years later I decided to take my writing seriously and in a Writing Magazine I read about the Romantic Novelists' Association and their New Writing Scheme, and joined. My first submission came back with a critique.
I have since had lots more critiques from the RNA but I'm not giving up. I plan to return to that first manuscript in the near future to rewrite it. I briefly joined the RWA when I started to write romantic suspense but stopped when I started writing romance and children's books.
I also write short stories for small press magazines and then in 2004 I was shortlisted in a Writing Magazine Crime story competition, and in 2005 came second in a Writing Magazine writing for children story competition, and thought maybe I could write for children. So in 2006 I started a correspondence course and half way through that I wrote the first four chapters of my first children's book and Rosie was born!
In 2010 I was made redundant, and concentrated on my writing. In 2011 I became an indie author of ebooks. Also in 2011 I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome with anxiety, and clinically diagnosed with Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser Syndrome II. As well as being an indie author, I now help new authors get writing, improve their writing and help them publish their works as ebooks.
